We have purchased several of the 55" Vibe Smartboards for our business. I can't believe how much these boards have changed the way we work.
I had been searching for a smartboard solution that would successfully accomplish three primary objectives.
1. I needed to be able to replace traditional whiteboards with a digital solution that would allow me to save and share boards for future use.
2. I needed the ability for remote team members to be able to participate in seeing and writing on the whiteboard from remote locations.
3. I wanted the ability to have multiple people in the same room write on the whiteboard from different devices at the same time (like from an iPad).
The Vibe Smartboard does all three of these requirements amazingly well and at a much more affordable price than most competitors. The Vibe team has frequent updates that have brought additional features and polish to their software and it seems to get better and better. I think what I like best about these boards are the features built into their applications. Whenever I meet with a remote team member over Microsoft Teams, they join the same whiteboard using the Vibe app. We can then see each other on camera via Teams without having to point the camera in some awkward angle to try and see what I'm drawing on the board. They can see, draw, and write from their iPad at the same time they can see me on camera. Beautiful!
The style, look, and feel of our offices are extremely important to us in my business, so we built a nice frame around the Vibe board in my office (see pictures), it sits on the wall behind me and when not in use, I have local landscape photos in a slide show that the screen-saver displays. It looks amazing behind me on camera.
In our conference rooms, we typically use a Vibe board as well as a larger display connected to a PC with a Camera for conferencing that is connected to the room's audio system. This allows us to let remote participants see us and collaborate on the whiteboard at the same time that we can see them. It makes the experience so much more immersive and collaborative. So, we just keep the Vibe on a stand that is off to the side as you can see in one of my pictures.
My only complaint about these boards is the lack of palm rejection. I wish I could rest my palm on the display and write with the pen without having my palm mess it up. It is also a problem sometimes if I'm wearing a jacket, the sleeve will often touch the screen causing unintended input. This issue in no way distracts from these devices being a solid 5-star rating. We have absolutely loved them.
We will likely add 5 or 6 more over the next year or so. I have recommended them to several other companies and I really think Vibe has something special that is only going to get better as they continue to develop new features and capabilities.
